THE OPPORTUNITY

Triton is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Project Manager to join a well-established team of environmental professionals, and this role can be based in any of our BC offices, such as Vancouver, Kamloops, Vernon, Prince George, Terrace, Kitimat, and Prince Rupert.

Our project managers are the cornerstone of our company and are committed to outstanding client service. In this role you will be responsible for managing the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects, spearheading business development, and providing mentorship to more junior staff. Our client base ranges from regional clients to multi-national oil & gas companies, government, First Nations, power management, and transportation firms.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Planning, organizing, and managing a diverse array of projects, people, and tasks
  • Understanding and managing project revenue
  • Liaising and negotiating with other partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors
  • Writing high-quality reports, cost estimates, and proposals
  • Creating project status reports and maintaining project documentation
  • Leading technical teams to ensure the quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables
  • Contributing specialist expertise to multi-disciplinary projects
  • Providing mentorship and training for our environmental professional team
  • Providing excellent service to existing clients and maintaining those relationships
  • Supporting corporate business development initiatives
  • Ensuring clients’ and Triton’s safety standards are maintained or exceeded
  • Working collaboratively within Triton’s corporate culture

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., environmental science, biology, agrology, ecology)
  • Business development acumen (e.g., client relationships, strategic planning, proposal writing)
  • Knowledge of and experience with provincial and federal environmental standards, regulations or guidelines
  • Previous experience working in an environmental consulting firm and/or experience working in a similar role is preferred.
  • Accreditation or eligibility for accreditation with a professional governing body recognized in BC (R.P.Bio., PAg, AScT) is preferred.
  • Experience with project management, leading projects, as well as leading project teams (i.e., budgeting, project tracking, cost-accounting and scope control)
  • A quick learner, easily adaptable to new software applications, systems, and business processes
  • Effective writing skills and able to produce meaningful reports and proposals
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to take initiative and drive results, effective problem solver, and able to think outside the box when required
  • Ability to work within a team setting, having a collaborative working style, and able to build and cultivate strong working relationships
  • Valid driver's licence from a Canadian province or territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting

SCHEDULE

This position is a full-time, permanent position.

Triton promotes and encourages a collaborative working team culture; hence a hybrid work schedule is preferred (remote and coming into the office). However, there could be potential to make the schedule more flexible, including having a more remote working schedule.

COMPENSATON

The compensation is dependent upon candidate experience and qualifications. The pay range can be anywhere from $36 dollars per hour - $70 dollars per hour.
